• Northtown Feeds Families in Need

The Food Bank of Western New York is so grateful for our friends at Northtown and their continued commitment to helping us fight hunger one day at a time! During our annual Food 2 Families holiday drive to benefit hungry local families, Northtown stopped by with a generous $1,000 donation and a van full of food! Throughout the years, Northtown’s incredible support has helped the Food Bank of WNY provide 22,000 meals to those in need throughout Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Erie and Niagara counties! It is because of our incredible partners like Northtown that the Food Bank of WNY is able to provide nutritious food and support to as many as 129,000 individuals in any given month. • Giving Thanks

During this “giving” time of year we wish to THANK Northtown’s Joe Hurley & Dan Strzelczyk for stopping by our rescue to drop off care packages for our newly adopted companion animals. Our rescue-Heart of Niagara Animal Rescue, our volunteers, and our pups send a big HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all involved!! Heart of Niagara is a 501c3, not for profit, 100% volunteer, animal rescue based in Lockport, NY (Town of Newfane). We take in local surrenders, and rescue from high kill shelters. We are in the process of renovating a home we purchased in the town of Newfane to meet the needs of our dogs. Our current project is the renovation of a second garage area for our small breed dogs and pups to reside. Our next project will be to convert the pole barn on property to an obedience and agility center. Once completed, we are hoping to be able to help our rescued dogs that are fear re-active, or fear aggressive, build self-confidence and learn to trust humans again. These are dogs that have suffered abuses, whether physical, or through neglect, and are in need of special attention and patience. If you would like more information about our rescue (or our adorable adoptable dogs!) you can contact us at- www.heartofniagara.org/ Facebook: Heart of Niagara Animal Rescue / heartofniagara@hotmail.com or call 716-345-7129. We are a donation based organization and are always in need of volunteers. Again, Thank you Northtown!!

  • Fulfilling a Promise to Children & Families

Northtown continues to fulfill its promise to families and children who need expert care only a Children’s Hospital can provide. The Northtown team displays the rendering of a Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) Room to be named in their honor when the brand new John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital opens in late Fall 2017. Subaru’s Share the Love supports the campaign to help build this facility and complete our patient rooms with essential comforts and modern technology essential to their care. The NICU features 64 private rooms that will offer an environment of personalized, comfortable care and minimal stress. It is a special time in history for Children’s Hospital and Western New York. Gifts like this from our community help bring us one step closer to completion of The John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital which will serve as a symbol of hope to families everywhere and ensure specialized pediatric and maternal healthcare is never more than a short drive from home. Visit http://www.kaleidahealth.org/foundations/childrens to see how you can be part of this historic project.

  • A Dog Days True Tail, as Told by Finnley the Dog

My name is Finnley and I want to say Thank You. I went to Dog Days of Kenmore a couple of weeks ago with my mom and dad and it’s a great party! I had an awesome time even though my mom did not let me get anything from the food truck. That day, my mom won a Subaru collar for me, which I now wear proudly when we drive in our SUBARU. My dad bought the car from Northtown Subaru, and we all love it, but I think I love it best because I spend most of the time with my head out the window, which is of course the best part of cars! I am happy to wear my Subaru collar because you guys do so much for dogs, especially me. Thank you for Dog Days of Kenmore – I love meeting new dog friends and hearing people say how handsome I am, and getting free treats! I have been to Dog Days of Kenmore three times. The first time, I was not with my mom and dad; I was with my friends from the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter. I met lots of nice people that day, but when I met my mom & dad they seemed most likely to love and spoil me. I chose to adopt them and I was right! They were not looking for a dog to adopt them, and we never would have met if not for Dog Days of Kenmore. So you see…what you do really does matter. Thank you for caring about dogs and the people who need them. With love and many tail wags, Finnley

  • Buffalo Subaru 4 Mile Chase

For 35 years the Buffalo Subaru Chase has brought together runners from all over the world in support of Western New York charities. Northtown has been a proud partner in that tradition for 30 of those years. Proceeds from the 35th running of the Buffalo Subaru Chase will support two outstanding local organizations dedicated to the health and wellness of our community. The ECMC Foundation provides program and patient support for ECMC, Western New York’s Level 1 Trauma Center. As the regions safety net hospital, ECMC also provides care to the most vulnerable in our community. The Police Athletic League of Buffalo provides recreation and other programming to the youth of our community, giving them invaluable opportunities to participate in organized sports programs not otherwise available to inner city youth. ECMC Foundation and PAL are grateful to Subaru for its continued support and commitment to improving the health and well-being of Western New York.

  • Northtown’s Generosity is Electric!

Northtown Subaru’s generosity is electric! The Amherst Middle School Rock Orchestra, under the direction of Mr. Patrick ODonnell, received a Subaru Love Promise grant this school year to electrify their string program. The donation helped us purchase a new amplifier and cable to plug-in our string instruments. This opportunity will help motivate and challenge our students musically and allow us to bring our community performances to another level. We are very thankful for the opportunity to partner with Northtown Subaru and appreciate the work Subaru is doing for the Amherst community.
